The Museum of the Rockies!

Here we are in the car on the way to the Museum of the Rockies!
Scrounge rode along in case we went to the thrift store, but she
didn't come in the museum because the sign said "No Pets."
Also, she finds museums boring.

The Museum of the Rockies!

The bronze statue outside the museum is named Big Mike.  I thought he looked really cool with
the snow on him.  He was cast from a skeleton that is in the museum's collection, but
the only part of the actual skeleton on display is its skull.

We looked at the other exhibits before the dinos.  The
underwear through the ages exhibit made us giggle a bit.

Karin liked the display of old cameras.

The museum has some displays you can touch.  Here's Luna
and I playing a game like Native American children would
have played hundreds of years ago.

And we got to sit on this saddle!  Yee-haw!

I'm glad we don't have to use a pump every time we want water!  My arms got tired really fast.

Then it was dinosaur time!

This part of the museum is called the Bowman Fossil Bank, and
you can watch them cleaning real fossils!  This nice lady showed
us a tooth/jaw fossil that came from some sort of small mammal.

Then we looked at the cool displays that
show how dinosaurs may have looked when
they were alive.  This is a baby Maiasaurus.

We thought this was a triceratops, but after reading the display
we found out it wasn't.

THIS is a triceratops!  His name is MORT and the nice volunteer lady said it was okay
to touch him.

Then we looked at the animated triceratops babies.  They
were way cute.  I was sad when we had to leave.

When we got home, Luna and I made pictures of the things we
had seen at the museum.  What a fun day!
