Trouble Hates the Park

One day Mommy said, "I have a great idea! Let's go to the park! We'll have a picnic, and then we'll play!"
"No thank you," I said.
It turns out you can't really opt out of going to the park, especially when all the others are excited for it.
Here's Eddie and Scrounge right when we got there. They were running to get the best picnic table.

"Are you going to eat all of yours?" Eddie asked.
"No,"
I said. "I am not going to eat any of it. My food is
sitting on a yucky table, and the pleasant breeze is drying out my
sandwich."
Eddie helped himself to my lunch.

Then it was time to play.
It turns out this is not the type of playing Mommy had in mind. She took away my game and said go run around.

"Come swing with me, Trouble!" Wing yelled. "It's fun!"

This is me on the swing. In the picture I am waiting for the fun part to start. It never really did.
Mommy came over and pushed me. Not out of the swing like I thought she was trying, just to make me go back and forth.
"Is it time to leave yet?" I asked.

Scrounge was climbing all over, and she was laughing and having a good time. I decided to try that.

I guess it wasn't actually too bad, considering that if I really want to climb stairs, we have stairs at home.
Scrounge said I should try and climb on the slippery little bars that make me feel like I'm going to fall.
I declined.

"You want to slide down with us?" Eddie asked. He and Wing love the slide.
"No thank you," I said. If you go down the slide, you just have to climb back up, and who wants to do that?

I sat exactly right here and watched the other kids play until Mommy finally said we could leave.
The others were really disappointed.

But finally, after spending the whole day doing what everyone else wanted to do, I got to go home and do what I wanted to do!
Mommy said I am an odd duck. I told her I am a cat. She didn't answer.
